TIPS:
- A short introduction telling the hiring manager about who you are and what position you are applying for, is required when submitting your resume.
- Make sure you READ and UNDERSTAND all the job requirements before applying
- Spell and grammar check your resume before submission.
- You only need state the area and Province you reside in, remove your exact address, it is not necessary. E.g. Umlazi, Durban, KwaZulu Natal
- READ the job advert before applying. Make sure you meet at least 90 percent of the specified requirements before submitting your CV.
- Update your resume frequently.
- Always ensure your contact details are up to date and check your email responses regularly.
- BE AWARE: If you are asked for money regarding your application – it is a SCAM! (It is illegal to ask candidates for money when applying for work in SA)
- All ITC (Credit or Criminal or Qualification) checks are “at the cost of the agency or client,” NOT YOU!!
- ALWAYS tell someone exactly where you are going for an interview, time, date and address or take someone with to wait for you – HUMAN TRAFFICKING is real.
- Photo’s are not necessary unless applying in a specific industry where it matters e.g. Modelling
- LYING on your CV is a criminal offense in South Africa! Just don’t!
