MAINTENANCE MANAGER – NORTHERN CAPE

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the proper maintenance, repair, and upgrading of all facilities and equipment to guarantee efficient operations and long-term functionality, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance. Additionally, this role involves managing a team of technicians and effectively allocating resources to ensure the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the facility, thereby supporting continuous production and safety.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical)/ Degree in Mechanical- or Electrical Engineering.
• GCC Accreditation/ Registration
• 5-8 years’ experience in a Mill / factory Maintenance Environments, FMCG
• Computer literate
• Strong knowledge of Pragma plant maintenance program.
• A self-starter with innovative technical abilities and strong people skills
• Proven experience leading & managing a diverse group of individuals.
• Analytical and can resolve plant breakdowns.
• Knowledge of the OSHACT essential.
• Experience in spares management for engineering.
• Ability to handle challenging objectives.
• Must be a team player

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

1. Formulate and execute a proactive maintenance plan aimed at reducing equipment downtime while enhancing productivity levels. 2. Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and new installations to guarantee 100% operational availability of factory equipment through both preventative and corrective measures. 3. Oversee and lead a team of maintenance technicians, offering direction, training, and mentorship to ensure they achieve their performance objectives. 4. Establish maintenance schedules and coordinate repair and maintenance tasks to minimize interruptions to daily operations. 5. Ensure that all maintenance procedures adhere to industry standards, regulations, and company policies. 6. Supervise the repair and diagnosis of equipment failures to reduce downtime and sustain optimal operational efficiency. 7. Collaborate with various departments to facilitate seamless operations and align maintenance activities with production or project timelines. 8. Monitor spare parts and equipment inventory levels while fostering relationships with suppliers to guarantee the timely procurement of necessary maintenance items. 9. Design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to reduce the likelihood of breakdowns and prolong the lifespan of equipment.
